Pretty Pictures for Monday

Mondays are always a bit of a blah. Here are some pretty pictures I’ve found. They brightened up my day, I hope they brighten up yours.
This spooky house sparks my imagination, I would love to have the time to write a shorts story around this picture.
Women in red dresses make their way onto my board quite frequently, but a red haired woman in a red dress with a bow and arrow? She will make it onto my board every time. (So, apparently this is the cover to the book Fire, which is part of a series that I’ve started reading. How serendipitous. In my defense the covers in the U.S. are quite different, which is why I didn’t recognize it as part of the same series. It is a shame the covers are so different, I do like this one a lot.)

That house! It may, just may, find its way into one of my books. Or, perhaps, already be the setting for my current middle grade novel

I think you might have to get a non-US version. Not sure why they prettified and simplified the covers here in the states. I’d want the woman in red personally.

I totally agree, that cover is gorgeous! I don’t know why they do that sometimes..to get us obsessed fans to buy more than one copy?

Possibly. I think they wanted to market it as YA here in the states? Though honestly reading through this book I’m thinking it is more adult than young adult.

For sure! It has a lot of very adult themes in it! That is funny that they would think it was more YA! Graceling has some very disturbing aspects to it as well!

Disturbing is definitely one way to put it. I really need to get the other two books, I’m loving Bitterblue.
