Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let Down Your Long Hair

Somehow I went on a Rapunzel rampage across the internets this week. Honestly, every clever Disney illustration I found was Rapunzel, every fun piece of nerdiness, Rapunzel. This may partially be the result of my infatuation with Tangled and The Smolder, but I still think these bits and pieces are quite fun and amazing, and so, it is Rapunzel day.
Here are some great illustrations: First up, the prettiest picture of Rapunzel I’ve seen to date. Please click over to the link, you wont be disappointed. Note the shadows on her hair. That isn’t just shading….
Next up, punk Rapunzel with a bull nose ring and tattoos. Way cool. When I grow up I want to be just like her. And finally, Rapunzel waiting for her prince to show. So much longing in this illustration. I love it.
I love this fantastic Rapunzel Book Sculpture. In fact, if you have an extra $750 lying around and want to get me a present, this looks good enough to me.
But honestly, this is amazing.
Read the short story of Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm here. It is quite melancholy. My favorite line from the story is: [H]e found the enchantress, who gazed at him with wicked and venomous looks. This is going to be my new tagline for my life. I am the enchantress, I gaze upon you with wicked and venomous looks. It would explain why all the boys are afraid to talk to me, and the creepy old men are not. Then due to my obsession with fairy tales and watching television shows like Once Upon a Time and Grimm, I thought, what if the children at the end grew up to be Hansel and Gretel?
Which reminds me, the new trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters was released yesterday. Yay! Jeremy Renner. Yay! Super excited.

The book sculpture is really cool!
The movie has sort of been on the we are making this list, but not really promoted. I think I’ve mentioned it a couple of times in gushing over Jeremy Renner. But now that the official trailer is out, I’m really excited.
