Flatline Minimalist Poster

I follow Whoogle on WordPress which has a lot of Doctor Who news (sometimes my feed is only Whoogle, which is a lot of new stuff). I don’t go through all of it, but every once in a while I find a gem, like this one. A minimalist poster by Stuart Manning of the episode Flatline. Which I thought was a great episode.

Street Art of War(ms) My Heart

I love street art. I used to see more of it in Chicago than where I live now, but that is what the Internets is for. I’ve found some lovely street art on Pinterest and immediately threw it up on my Art of War(ms) My Heart board, which you should go and follow if you haven’t yet. Here are a few of my favorite new pieces.

What fun. I wish I could go there and be the puppet!

The interweaving of arms and roots and wall are just wonderful.

The concept of this piece is brilliant. The detail amazing. I love the little footsteps.

And my absolute favorite is the following piece. What emotion.

Sherlock Love

Due to incoming guests and family meals, I haven’t watched Sherlock. Yet. But I will. So, no spoilers. In the mean time, here is some fun Sherlocky spoiler free stuff on the interwebs.

Sherlock cosplay. His grin is the bestest!

Sherlock and John fan art. Though, I think John is quite clever himself.

Sherlock and MGM lion mash up. Because this one made me laugh out loud.

Sherlock and Mary Hopper anime fan art.

Possible Sherlock Legos to be made. It’s currently in the review stage. In the mean time enjoy the concept art work.

Nodds & Nends: Nerdy Pick Up Lines, Hangout With The Bloggess, and Book Sculptures

io9 has all of your very best nerdy pick up lines from famous sci/fi fiction. But honestly don’t use these. They are just for fun. I personally think the best pick up line is, Hello. I had a whole long conversation with a guy I used to work with who wanted to go and talk to a customer, but he wanted a good first sentence. I told him to just say Hello and keep it simple. But that wasn’t good enough. When did a polite opening of Hello become not good enough? For me, when guys try to come up with something cool it’s always just a bit weird. Some guy tried to get me to come take a boxing lesson from him. . . . Um. Yah, no.

Jim C.  Hiines strikes a pose, like the women on ubran fantasy covers. It sure is striking, and he points out the ridiculousness of the pose. The one disagreement I had with his little project is that he says the whole hip thing is wrong, well yes, because he doesn’t have any. Still he makes quite a few good points. This posing posting led me around the internets for a bit and I stumbled on this article on why superheroes are sexy, and it is not for their ability to dislocate their torsos from their head while fighting crime.

A funny new humor blog I stumbled across, Like The Vodka, will have you laughing. This blogger talks about her Russian husband, how she met him and the funny miscommunications that happen. She met him taking dancing lessons FYI. He told her she was susceptible, he meant sensitive. It is a love story full of humor.

I love this illustration. It is called Chasing the Moon, but it’s more like catching it.

And for all you book nerds, these book sculptures will warm your little hearts. They did mine.

Want to watch The Bloggess, Wil Wheaton, John Scalzi, and Patrick Ruthfuss do a Story Board hangout and talk about writing and blogging? Of course you do.  I  listened to the entire thing while I was working on another project, best background chatter ever.  (FYI if  you listen to this at work, use headphones.)

Doctor Who Day- Don’t Blink

I love this webcomic Head Trip mashing up different Doctor Who villains into a mixture of awesomeness. Or how about this one about a Dalek doing robocalls. Honestly, you guys need to start following HeadTrip its a geeky person’s dream webcomic. 🙂 She doesn’t always update consistently, but put her on your RSS feed and when her comics show up, it will make your day. It always makes mine!

This TARDIS dress looks like something I would rather sleep in, and as for a night gown it is a little pricey at almost $30. But it is still super cool and I wouldn’t say no to a free TARDIS nightdress. 🙂 But I’m not really sure what else I would expect from a dress that is only be sold at Hot Topic. I guess with Halloween right around the corner it’s an easy and fairly cheap costume, especially if you could find a fez. [via the Mary Sue]

And if you are walking around Boystown on Halloween looking to get into one of the fun bars, realize you will have to stand in probably the rain for a bit or two, can I recommend using this TARDIS messenger bag, big enough to hold your costume touch-up costume kit? Super cool purses/bags and now I really want one! [via RIASS]

I stumbled across this awesome cartoonish illustration of the 10th Doctor and the 11th Doctor having snack time. It is super adorable.

And now the best for last. This video is about a deleted scene from the latest episode of Doctor Who. So, if you have not seen the latest episode, DO NOT WATCH THIS. It is extremely spoilery. AGAIN, SPOILERS!!! But for those of you who have, this is awesome, and sorta explains a few more things, and sorta makes things more complicated. Either way I loved it! [via The Bloggess]

Street Art, Stencil Art, and Buffy

This giant on/off switch was painted on the side of a building, legally, for a festival. How cool is that? [via]

Urban Wall‘s stencil art by is just fantastic. You can buy prints by contacting the artist at reinaldoferrer@gmail.com.

Another Buffy and Twilight joke, but this time the art is just fantastic. I’m not a Twilight Hater, but this is funny. [via]

Star Wars Fan Art

I find all sorts of interesting stuff on Pinterest. Even Vader fan art, yes there is some. And it is awesome, like this illustration of Vadar with a parasol. [via]  Personally I love mash-ups and parodies, so this Whistler’s Mother mash-up is just gold in my book. [via] And here is a Yoda illustration that is out of this world. I ❤ it. [via]
