Nodds &Nends: Amazing Star Wars Mural, X-Files, and a Day in the Life of the Earth

You probably caught this already as it stormed across the internet, but a woman painted a very cool Star Wars mural in her daughter’s room and it is the best thing ever. Plus, if you go into her exorcisingemily deviantart site you can see more fabulous murals she’s painted, you might even catch a glimpse of the Doctor. I follow her on twitter now and she is funny and amazing. [via The Mary Sue]

The X-Files has hit the small screen again this week and my husband and I are trying to get through the last few from the 90s so we can catch up with the rest of the world. In the mean time we are indulging in videos like the one below which lists the top ten episodes of the series. I have to say, they actually picked some good ones to reminisce about. [via WatchMojo]

The below video is short, but stunning. A day in the life of the earth in seconds. I love it! [via io9 and Glittering Blue]

Nodds & Nends: Jimmy Fallon as Jim Morrison, Top Television of 2015, and My Favorite New gif

I love Jimmy Fallon, I think he’s great! I know not everyone does, but for me Jimmy Fallon is someone who can make me laugh and feel better about life because of the joy of life that he brings to this world, and that is awesome. Here he is imitating Jim Morrison and singing Reading Rainbow. It’s nothing short of amazing.

Read Nerds of Color’s Top 15 Television Series of 2015 list. I may have to check out a couple of these I haven’t seen yet.

Favorite new gif.

Every time I watch this, I can't help but laugh! funny-gif-supermarket-Titanic-playing

I’m in love with this TARDIS Mini Satchel and Metal Charm Keychain Shoulder Handbag. GAH! Of course it is currently unavailable. Of course! [via Facebook]

Nodds & Nends: Top TV 2015, Quidditch Beer Pong, Miniatures, and a Troll T-Shirt

Check out this article by NerdBastards for their Top Ten TV Shows of 2015. I have to say, the one’s I’ve watched at that list, I do love. I may need to check out the others.

You can buy a Quidditch Beer Pong set, once they manufacture more that is, they are currently sold out. Still. This is a thing, peeps. [via The Mary Sue]

I read this really cool article on WordPress Discover about Photographing Miniature Worlds and Jennifer Nichole Wells. A cool article and she makes some amazing scenes. I just love them! I’m totally into miniatures now after making so many cool things for my nieces. I may have to start my own haunted doll house or something.

I saw this shirt on Facebook and thought some of you all might like it. Another hurt only nerds/dorks/geeks/fandoms will feel. I definitely am going to need to add this to my collection. Here’s a link to buy this OMG It’s R2D2! I loved Him in Star Trek t-shirt. You are welcome.

Who will hate this?

Doctor Who Fans: That is a Dalek, not R2D2

Star Wars Fans: That is a Dalek, not R2D2, and R2D2 was in Star Wars, not Star Trek.

Star Trek Fans: The images on this have nothing to do with Star Trek. R2D2 is from Star Wars. For some reason these fandoms hate each other. The image is of a Dalek which is a Doctor Who icon.

Who will love this?

Me.

Anyone with a sense of humor.

People who like to troll the geek/nerd/dork/fandom community for being so uptight about their fandoms.

Geeky Holiday Haul

The holidays are upon us and I have recieved a lot of wonderful geeky gifts I just have to tell everyone about! I got a TARDIS hoodie that I have wanted for ages! I got a Doctor Who mug which I’ve used the every day to watch the TARDIS disappear for coffee time.  But, perhaps the most unique gift is the Doctor Who t-shirt I posted about earlier on this blog that my best friend sent me. It is soooo awesome and really does glow in the dark!

It’s like my people know me. 😉

I wore this Where the Wild Things Are T-shirt to work today. It was a present from my mother who has always been a huge supporter of my geeky side.  I love that I can wear this to work, yes that’s my hand made TARDIS cork board behind me, and I even have a squishy TARDIS toy that lights up sitting on my desk. No one even blinks that I have these things. Either this is a testament to the power of me being able to get away with anything because I work hard, or people are so used to my weirdness it doesn’t even register anymore.

Doctor Who Day: K-9 Ornament, TARDIS String Lights, and Wine Glasses

I just put together a couple of things that were floating around in the back of my head. I had a vague understanding of who Orson Scott Card was and I had not read him and I forgot why. The why is because I had read a long time ago articles about his homophobia and rantings on the subject (which are obviously based on the way he was raised and some deep seated fear of himself, as most hateful outlooks about other people usually are). It is a sad thing because I do like his Mither Mages series,  but will not be posting any more reviews of his books.

When do we separate the art from the artist, and when do we just not give an artist with a hateful view another platform for their voice?

I’ve decided it is definitely time for another Doctor Who Day and supporting geekiness that totes deserves the support.

Doctor Who Day

Think Geek has some great Doctor Who stuff on sale like this K-9 ornament that is just in time for the holidays and super cute if I may add.

Doctor Who K-9 Ornament

And these TARDIS string lights which I am thinking about getting for my office. I already have a TARDIS cork board and plushie (which I still need to bring in) and these lights would round out my office nicely.

This super cool  Starry Night/TARDIS necklace on Etsy would make a great gift for the lover of Doctor Who in your life, and it is under $10!

Or how about these Doctor Who blue wine glasses on Etsy? ‘Cause I think I need them, like yesterday. Unfortunately, I don’t think they come with the wine.

Nodds & Nends: Mouse Mingle, All The Feels, and Don’t Forget Doctor Who Tee

Mousing Mingle– Disney Fans looking for love need look no further. Yes, this is a thing and it is kind of adorable. [via The Mary Sue]

Do you follow Jonathan Carroll, author, on Facebook? You should. He posts some really cool things. Like the picture below.

Reasons Why My Wife is Crying post by Aaron Gillies is awesomely funny . His wife sounds adorbs. Also, please note he got her permission before posting, so she doesn’t mind being viewed as someone who cares about all the feels. Spousal permission before posting is important, I’m still trying to convince my husband to let me post the video where  I try to tickle him with my feet and get stabbed by a fork for the effort. His stop-tickling-me-laugh is just too ridiculously cute to not get on video. Since I’m the one who looks like a brat, I don’t know why he’s having issues. (Don’t worry, I’ll keep working on him.) [via Bored Panda]

Don’t Forget Doctor Who themed tee glows in the dark and is too awesome for words! This website has some other awesome nerdy tees that are sure to make your geeky heart pitter and patter. No I didn’t get compensation for this, but I should have. Please, give me the thing! [via TeeTurtle]

My Doctor Who Day and Outfit

I recently acquired a Doctor Who themed phone case of the TARDIS in the Starry Night scene of Van Gogh’s, I got it to match my necklace and inspired by these two items I crafted an outfit last week. I walked into work and showed off my necklace and phone case to my co-worker who is also a huge Doctor Who fan. “You look like a Doctor Who companion!” She exclaimed. Oooh, to go on an adventure with the Doctor!

Doctor Who Day, Mash-ups, and More

The Doctor is In and he is recommending a heavy dose of fandom glee in these fun Doctor Who finds that popped up on Pinterest.

First dose: A tree with a bow tie. It is probably only Whovians who would see Matt Smith in street art on a tree, but I immediately posted this picture to my Doctor Who board.

Second dose: It’s the TARDIS in the shape of a motor vehicle with some left over attachments from its Police Box days.

Third dose: Fan art of Tenant’s Doctor and a Dalek by ben rc using low poly.
