Doctor Who Christmas Special

The Doctor Who Christmas Special airs today, and it looks delish. I love when Matt Smith goes into Brooding Doctor its so incredibly different from his effervescent Doctor. Thanks to FM I found this wonderful video Strax giving his Sontaran version of some popular Christmas songs. I love the last one. You can also head to BBC America and watch a sneak peak if you want, I don’t feel it spoils anything, but if you don’t want to know anything then don’t go, it kind of lays out the general feeling of the Christmas episode.

You can watch the trailer here (again, I’m assuming). Did anyone else catch the snowflake with teeth? I just caught that. Shudder.

Take a personality quiz to see if you could be a Doctor Who companion. It’s more of a “have you watched Doctor Who so you can cheat on this test” kind of quiz. But it’s fun. Thanks to my cousin Breanna who I saw had taken it. LOL Ah internets.

A replica of River Song’s sonic screw driver is on preorder and only $3500. If you can get your hands on one of the fifteen that will be made. Yah. Ok. You all have fun with that.

Here’s a snowman in the shape of a Dalek. If I had snow, enough of it, and the desire to do some Doctor Who with it, I would still not create a Dalek. But it is cool nonetheless.

And here is a wonderful illustration of the new companion DeviantArt. Well, it’s the actor as Oswin, but still, it’s beautiful. You can buy it as a t-shirt or greeting card. I can only imagine why you’d want such a stricken face on a greeting card. Announcing the death of a beloved pet perhaps? I could have used many of those a long time ago.

A clip of how using the memory worm may or may not be a useful tool. It’s quite funny, clever, and spoils nothing.

Nodds & Nends: Fantasy Houses, Zombie Love Stories, and Nathan Fillion

Sometimes when I need a pick me up I go onto Pinterest and look at pretty places I will never see. Like this fantasy house. Puurrrty. This tree door is amazing, the door itself is so intricate let alone to have been so integrated to scenery around it, I’m in awe. Or how about this tree train tunnel, it is gorgeous! And this cabin in the woods is way less scary than Joss Wedon’s and has huge lovely windows.

The Mary Sue has a trailer on it for an upcoming movie, Warm Bodies a story about a zombie who falls in love and starts to heal himself. Honestly, when I write that out it sounds really hokey, but it actually looks like a good movie. Plus it has a decent cast of actors, including Nicholas Holt, I love that kid. Well, except for his sociopathic teenager character in Skins (UK), he’s just creepy there. Warm Bodies should be opening February 1, 2013.

Here is an awesome four paneled illustration of Nathan Fillion as his movie/geeky idols.

These smiling Disney Princesses are ones I have dubbed, barely clothed Disney Princesses. Enjoy.

Gordon-Levitt and Looper

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be staring in  the sci/fi thriller September 28, 2012. Originally I saw some sort of teaser for this a long time ago and completely forgot about it. However, when I went to get my hair cut recently there was a GQ copy of Joseph Gordon-Levitt sitting on the coffee table in the waiting room and I just had to pick up the magazine and flip through the pictures of Gordon-Levitt in some lovely three pieces suits. Drool. Anyway, it mentioned Looper and I also recently saw this article from io9, so now I’m plenty interested.

The basic premise is that gangsters use time travel in 2074 to send people they want to whack to the past collecting silver pieces along the way. When a victim shows up with a gold piece on their back the Looper knows their Loop has made its full circle and they kill their future self living the rest of their life with all the money they’ve collected. Cool right? Watch the trailer below for more good times.

Unofficial Inspector Space Time Trailer

So the guy who plays Inspector Spacetime has put together an untitled webseries about a space traveler who also travels through time. What a lot of legal hoops. This play off of the former Community’s show Inspector Spacetime which was a take off of Doctor Who, will hopefully be as awesome as all of us nerds hope it is. ::Crossesfingers:: In the mean time enjoy the trailer. Remember it is not “who” but “when.” [via Topless Robot, Thanks to Sara for the tip!]

New Trailer for Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter Trailer

I’m actually getting kind of excited for this movie. It looks like the fight scenes and action will be kick ass. But then, sometimes movie trailers are deceptive. So, we’ll see. I’m also excited to add it to the little fantasy world in my head where Sam and Dean live and where maybe they meet a descendant of Lincoln who is still a hunter specializing in taking out vampires.  This is why day dreaming is so much more fun than working. [via]

On a side note I always have to think Link -oh-lynne to remember how to spell Lincoln. How that helps me, since I’m adding a bunch of letters, I don’t know.

Vampire Hunter in a Top Hat

The trailer for Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter showed up on the internets. Here it is for your viewing pleasure. [via io9]

An Actual Avengers Trailer

There was a teaser trailer that came out a few weeks ago for the upcoming movie The Avengers. As I’m really sick of teaser trailers, just give us the damn trailer already people!!!, I protested by not posting. I waited for the real thing, and I was sooo not disappointed. Drool. Yay! When is this going to get to my life????? I need it nooooooowwwww. [via Topless Robot]
